You know those days when all you want to wear is a big, comfy sweater and a cozy pair of sweats?
That’s pretty much the story of my life during the winter……….And spring. And summer. And fall.
But you know those days when you just can’t roll out of bed and take on the day wearing your boyfriend’s hoodie and your comfiest sweats? Maybe you have a big meeting, maybe you’re going on a hawt date, or maybe you just feel like looking like you put in some effort (can’t relate on that last one, tbh).
Those days are usually THE. FREAKING. WORST. because you spend all day in something that looks nice but doesn’t feel nice. You’re not comfortable, which means you’re also not happy.
Luckily, I have discovered the perfect solution for those days.
I was in Nordstrom a month or so ago to return something when I found THE comfiest sweater on THE entire planet.
Like literally all I wanted to do that day was go inside, return the overalls I had ordered that didn’t look good on me (still crying inside about that), and leave. But as I was approaching the register I saw this sweater and was like, THAT. IS. MINE. (Raise your hand if you can relate!) I tried the sweater on. It was so, so soft and so, so cozy and also FLATTERING. All was lost. I bought the sweater.
For the first few weeks I really just wore the sweater with leggings, t-shirts, and running shoes but then one day I just did NOT feel like getting dressed for work.
I pulled this sweater out and tried to think about how I could dress it up a little bit. A big statement necklace? A dressy pair of boots? A sparkly headband? A cutesy plaid shirt?
Long story short, I went with a comfy button-up, dainty necklace, simple watch, and my fav pair of booties.
I got SO many compliments that day on my outfit that I ran outside and took some photos and decided to share the details with all you lovelies ;)
If there’s one thing I’ve learned during my few years as a college graduate, it’s that life is too short to be uncomfortable. If your dressy shirts and beaded blouses aren’t comfortable, don’t wear them. If you hate dress pants and pencil skirts, don’t buy them. Find what makes you look good AND feel good and you will so much happier! PROMISE.
