Guess who has tonsillitis again! THIS GIRL.
I’ve been struggling with tonsillitis on and off for a few years now, and this past week I was feeling particularly crappy. I know everyone’s like, “why don’t you just have your tonsils taken out?” Believe me, if I could, I WOULD.
The problem is, even though tonsillectomies are day surgery, they take 2-3 weeks to recover from. And ain’t nobody got time to take 2-3 weeks off work. Soooo for now my crappy, dilapidated tonsils remain. Yippee.
Fortunately, today’s outfit makes me feel a bit better. I had a lot of fun putting this look (err…looks?) together, and even more fun wearing them around!
First, I have to tell you a little story about this vest.
Last month I was in Boot Barn with my mom just kind of killing time. I had no intention of buying anything (you already know where this is going, don’t you….). As we were meandering through the racks, she held up this fringe vest that I immediately turned my nose up at.
I have never, ever been much of a fringe person. And that vest looked like something that came straight out of the 60s.
But then I couldn’t stop thinking about that vest. I tried to be sneaky so my mom wouldn’t see me looking at the vest and trying it on (I have a fragile ego, people), but she did and hasn’t stopped making fun of me since I bought it.
Long story short, this vest is super fun and versatile. I get lots of compliments on it any time I wear it, it looks good in all different seasons, and it goes with every style of boot in my closet. Talk about a good investment (thanks, momma!).
So anyway, as I mentioned above, today’s post technically contains two looks. When I was putting together today’s outfit, I couldn’t decide which boot to pair with the vest. I loved the idea of bright blue boots balancing out an all-neutral outfit, but I also liked the idea of fringe on fringe.
So. I tried both, and ended up really liking both. And now I’m even more torn about which boots to wear out than I was before!
The blue boots are nice because, like I said, they add a fun pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. These boots are usually pretty in-your-face, but with an outfit like this (as well as the brown toe box that brings everything together), they blend really nicely.
But the fringe-on-fringe is also really nice, right? It has a bit more of a music festival vibe to it, making it perfect to wear to a concert or rodeo.
Long story short, I need help deciding which boots to wear! Let me know on Facebook, Instagram, or in the comments below which boot you like better!
