YOU GUYS. IT IS FINALLY FALL. I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER ABOUT THIS.

Fall has always, always, always been my favorite season. I love sweaters, scarves, football, cozy socks, PUMPKIN-FLAVORED EVERYTHING, crisp mornings, crunchy leaves, bonfires, burnt orange and gold decorations, hot chocolate, cuddles, everything. Fall is hands down the best season and I look forward to it every. single. year.

And because I love fall so much I knew my first fall outfit post of the year needed to be on point. Which is why I decided to style a tribal print cape/shawl thing I recently got at Flicka Boutique in Poulsbo, Washington FIVE different ways.

The first thing that struck me about this cape was the bold colors. I knew right away that I could style this with pretty much every single pair of boots I own. The other thing that I love about this cape is that it’s warm but airy at the same time. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but this thing keeps you warm while also keeping you ventilated. The material feels like a scarf, which could get pretty toasty if you’re moving around a lot. But because the cape’s sleeves aren’t sewn into the back, air can still get through and help you regulate your body temperature. Which is great if you’re like me and hate being hot.

Anyway. As I was planning today’s post, I really wanted to show y’all just how versatile (there’s that word again!) this shawl is, so I decided to style it with five distinctly colored boots. So. Here we go!

Burnt Orange Crocodile Canty Boots

Fair warning: you’ll probably be seeing a lot more of this pair of Canty boots this fall. I got them back in April and I’ve been eagerly awaiting fall just because they’ll go with SO MUCH this season.

I wanted to bring out the little pops of yellow in the cape, and after some trial and error, I think mustard yellow is the best shade for this cape. I tied the burnt orange boots and mustard yellow top together with a simple orange bubble necklace. This outfit would be perfect for a football game or fall picnic!

Black Ariat Boots with Bling

Black jeans and denim shirts are a fall staple, so I figured I had to include them in today’s post! I was initially a little worried about this combination because I thought there’d be too much going on with a button-up AND cape, but I think the simplicity of the top and jeans go really nicely with the the cape’s boldness. The various pieces don’t compete at all.

An outfit like this would be great for a casual Friday at the office, or even a date night!

Red Lucchese Boots

If it’s still 90 degrees wherever you live (like it is in Utah…), good news! This cape looks fabulous with shorts!

Details for this outfit:

  • White v-neck tee from Target, $10
  • White boyfriend shorts from Buckle, $39.60
  • I got my red beaded necklace about two years ago from Francesca’s, but this one from World Market is super similar (and really affordable at $19.99!)
  • I got my red Lucchese boots about four years ago in Jackson Hole, Wyo., but I am totally digging this pair of red and brown Luccheses from AA Callister’s (I’ve tried these on and I can honestly say they are STUNNING. Definitely on my wish list!)

Pink Cowgirl Boots and Graphic Tee

It IS Wednesday, so I couldn’t not style pink cowgirl boots without this graphic tee. Even though this cape is super busy, I think it’s perfectly okay to style it with a graphic tee if you keep things simple. You’ll notice here that I didn’t wear any jewelry, and that’s because I didn’t want to overwhelm the outfit with too many details. The cape is detailed enough! :)

This outfit would be perfect for a fall bonfire or a weekend shopping trip with the girls!

Teal Justin Boots

Okay so, to be 100% honest, one of the biggest reasons I bought this cape is because of the pops of teal in the fabric. I bought a pair of teal Justin boots earlier, and I am sad to say I hardly wear them. I don’t know if it’s the bold color or the square toe (I’m definitely more of a snip toe or round toe girl), but these things have really just been collecting dust since I bought them.

So when I discovered this cape I was like, OMG I CAN WEAR THESE WITH MY JUSTINS YASSSSSSS.

So here we are. Since the boots and cape are so bold, I paired them with a black skirt and black tank top. Not on to overlook the details, I included a few little pops of colors to keep the outfit extra interesting. This outfit would be a fantastic church outfit, and I also think it would be great to wear to work!

Like I said, I got this cape at Flicka Boutique in Poulsbo, Washington. They ship, so if you want to get your hands on it, I’d call them snag it before it’s gone! The cape is the Charlie Paige brand, and the only place I’ve been able to find it online is eBay for $89.99. I only paid $49 for the cape, so I’d definitely call Flicka or look for it at a Charlie Paige retailer in your area.

Tomorrow I’ll be publishing Country Hipster’s 100th blog post! Stay tuned for a really fun “black to basics” outfit, and don’t forget to enter our giveaway on Instagram!
