So, part of the reason I went to Nevada this weekend was because my sister and her family were also there. Since they live near Seattle, I don’t get to see them very often, which kind of sucks because my nephews are really fun and cute! I figured a 5-hour drive was better than an expensive plane ticket to see them, so off I went!
While I was in Nevada, I did a little photoshoot with my nephews because, as I said, they’re really stinkin cute. I had my sister bring their cowboy boots down (because that’s a requirement for this blog duh!) and then we bought them matching shirts at Boot Barn. To put it simply, their pictures were way too cute not to put on the blog. (I mean, really, how could I say no to cute kids in cowboy boots?!)
Ethan is 5 and Alexander is 2. Ethan is easily one of the most intelligent kids I’ve ever seen (and I’m not just saying that!), and Alexander is a little bit of a diva (I think he gets that from his Auntie Taylor?).
Both of them love, love, love the camera. They even know what a freakin selfie is, which kind of worries me?
This was my first time shooting kids’ portraits, and I think they turned out really nicely! It was a little hard to get Alexander to cooperate (he was much more interested in going down the slide in my parents’ yard than me sticking a camera in his face), and Ethan tends to be a goofball more than anything (for some reason he really likes sticking his finger up his nose?). But a few of the shots turned out, and that’s all that counts, right?
Aaaand this is my favorite shot from the shoot! Alexander did this all on his own, and I thought it was absolutely perfect! He’s a natural little cowboy!
The boys’ shirts are Ely Cattleman, and they came from Boot Barn! (I couldn’t find the style online, even though we bought the shirts last week!). Both of their boots are Old West, and they’re both available at Boot Barn. (Here’s Ethan’s and Alexander’s.) Ethan’s Wrangler jeans are available at Wal-Mart, and Alexander’s little pants are from Carter’s!
